American Idol’s Paul McDonald and Twilight actress Nikki Reed hold hands as they leave the Troubadour on Thursday (May 12) in Santa Monica, Calif.

Paul, 26, and Nikki, 22, went to see Prince perform live in concert.

Earlier in the week, the new couple were seen together at American Idol‘s performance show.

In April, Paul and Nicki announced that they started dating after meeting for the first time at the premiere of Red Riding Hood.

The 24-year-old actor walked the red carpet at the premiere of his new movie, Water for Elephants, earlier in the evening. Kristen, 21, also attended the premiere and wore J. Mendel, but she kept a very low profile all night!

FYI: This isn’t the first time Kristen has come out to support Rob in his projects outside of Twilight – just over a year ago, she attended the premiere of Remember Me and sat next to Rob at the debut screening!

“Yes, me and Nikki are dating. It’s officially true,” Paul told E! “She’s super cool. She’s super smart so I’m happy with it. We’ve been hanging out here and there. We’re both pretty busy, but it been fun so far.”

Paul said that Nikki is not bummed that he was voted off American Idol last night.

“She is actually pumped,” he told People. “She said, ‘Dude, you finally get to do your thing and be yourself and be the artist you are.’ She is happy about the whole situation. She has been nothing but cool to me.”

Paul, 26, and Nikki, 22, first met at the premiere of Red Riding Hood last month.

Robert Pattinson and Kristen Stewart sit side by side at the People’s Choice Awards 2011 on Wednesday (January 5) at Nokia Theatre L.A. Live in Los Angeles.

The Twilight co-stars were joined by Taylor Lautner in the audience.

Kristen, in Reem Acra, picked up the award for Favorite Movie Actress, beating out Angelina Jolie, Jennifer Aniston, Julia Roberts, and Katherine Heigl for the honor.

The Twilight Saga: Eclipse also won the award for Favorite Movie, topping Alice in Wonderland, Inception, Iron Man 2, and Toy Story 3!

FYI: Kristen is also wearing Jimmy Choo’s Vita platform sandal, while Taylor suited up in Dolce & Gabbana. Rob was wearing a Dries Van Noten jacket.
